SKILL LEVEL
✨ **Level 2-Advanced**  (angle stitches)
This pattern is worked in mosaic overlay crochet (one color per row), creating bold imagery without yarn carried along the back of your work. You should be familiar with basic stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet).

This mosaic crochet pattern is an advanced skill level and is recommended for crocheters with experience in mosaic overlay crochet.  Detailed instructions, photos, and video tutorials will guide you through each step of the project. With a little bit of patience and practice, you'll be a pro in no time!

If you are new to angle stitches, I highly recommend trying them first with this free Heart Mug Rug pattern. This small 7”x 7” project is a great introduction to my angle notation system and includes my full stitch key.

OPTIONAL PERSONALIZATION
There is space in the design to personalize your blanket with a name.  I have several alphabet fonts available that fit this space nicely (sold separately).

FINISHED SIZE:  40”x 49”
(160 stitches x 194 rows)
*Size will vary depending on yarn weight and hook.  
This calculation was based on weight 4 worsted yarn and hook size of 4 mm.  Gauge: 4 stitches and 4 rows=1 inch

YARN 
*Note: I recommend keeping Color A your dark color due to the use of the shadows in this design. 

*This pattern is written for 2 contrasting colors.  (One of my pattern testers used 3 colors and the tapestry color changing technique for the tongue and eyes.  I have video tutorials on tapestry color changing - but you would have to color plan this yourself using the charts as a template if you wish to use more than 2 colors.)

This pattern is divided into 5 sections (4 pages each) and is worked from the bottom up. I would suggest using the Knit Companion app (my personal preference as it is brilliant and saves on printer ink and paper), but I have also included layout instructions for the charts if you prefer to print out your pages. The written pattern sections correlate with the charts so they can be used together.  I have also included a full chart on one page for those who wish to use Knit Companion (or similar technology) without all the page breaks.
