Carry a splash of ocean magic everywhere you go with the Angelfish Tote—a mosaic crochet pattern worked in the round and part of my Under the Sea Collection. This design features the Angelfish motif from my Beyond the Basics course, adapted here for a stylish and functional tote bag you’ll love using year-round. With clear charted and written instructions, this project is perfect for seasoned mosaic crocheters looking to create a unique, beach-inspired accessory that celebrates texture, color, and skill. A beautiful blend of practicality and creative expression—your next favorite tote is just a few stitches away!
This mosaic crochet pattern is an advanced skill level and is recommended for crocheters with experience in mosaic overlay crochet. Detailed instructions, photos, and video tutorials will guide you through each step of the project. With a little bit of patience and practice, you'll be a pro in no time!
If you are new to angle stitches, I highly recommend trying them first with this free Heart Mug Rug pattern. This small 7”x 7” project is a great introduction to my angle notation system and includes my full stitch key.

This pattern is divided into 4 sections and is worked in the round. I would suggest using the Knit Companion app (my personal preference as it is brilliant and saves on printer ink and paper), but I have also included layout instructions for the charts if you prefer to print out your pages. The written pattern sections correlate with the charts so they can be used together. I have also included a full chart on one page for those who wish to use Knit Companion (or similar technology) without all the page breaks.
Special thanks to Victoria Crouse for testing this pattern.
